Convenience retailing

With ever tightening margins on fuel, forecourt convenience stores have become a key revenue stream for petrol retailers. The growth in franchising has allowed retailers to bring in big-name partners, like M&S or Waitrose, with their own loyal following. Others have managed to create their own in-house convenience store brands and make them a destination for consumers. Circle has worked with numerous fuel retailers to build a successful convenience offer of their own, or in some cases to develop well-chosen franchise partnerships. For an in-house offer, we focus the strategy on a particular clientele, and then create bright and inviting stores, from grocery shops to bakeries, delis and cafés, with a strong personality and a well-targeted and interesting product range. They attract a loyal clientele and far higher margins - and some chains have proved so successful that they are now being sold as franchises in their own right.
